Downsizing and outsourcing in the 90s arose in response to organisations that had become too bureaucratic and slow to respond in the 80s. In this video, Professor Andrew Kakabadse discusses how outsourcing and downsizing have been confused, and how organisations can decide how to outsource or downsize -- they need to know what's core to their organisation and what's critical to their organisation. What's core may not be critical, and vice versa. A small team can be well positioned to come up with a plan for the foreseeable future (i.e. the year ahead).
