‘What boards need?’ with Professor Andrew Kakabadse - book your online place now

Andrew Kakabadse, Professor of Governance and Leadership, is guest speaker at Henley Business School Germany’s virtual Coaching Leadership conference: ‘Defining Executive Coaching,’ taking place on Thursday 18th November, 2021, from 10am to 5:30pm (CET).

This overarching event will focus on how coaching can benefit executives’ knowledge, contribution and future careers and Professor Kakabadse will focus specifically on the topic of ‘What boards need?’ in a session running from 12-12:45pm (CET). He will also participate in a short end of the event panel discussion on ‘meeting clients’ needs – the effective toolkit for the executive coach.’

Professor Kakabadse explains:

“Our Kakabadse Global Studies collection has reviewed thousands of organisations and boards, identifying that over 34% of private companies and third sector entities are left continually divided on organisational mission, vision and strategy.

“The result of this is a counterproductive dynamic at the board and C-suite level. As chairs, regulators have to address ever greater complexities, but are also tasked with adhering to strict compliance requirements which does little to enable positive engagement while working through uncomfortable issues.

“Despite this, the government has chosen compliance as the route forward following the establishment of the Audit Reporting and Governance Authority, the regulator which succeeds the Financial Reporting Council (FRC).”

Attendees at the ‘What boards need?’ event will learn about the actions needed to become a high performing board director and better understand the role, contribution and value of boards in today’s dynamic environment.”
